Like any library, once you are finished with your trap please return it to us so we can issue it to another trapper in the area.

If you are still catching, no problem, please keep recording your catches and utilise the trap until you are ready to return it.

What Is Trap Library East Auckland?

Trap Library East Auckland is a combined community project made up of Rotary, Lions and Friends of Mangemangeroa members.

The group was spearheaded by Pakuranga Rotary and now has representation from the Rotary Clubs of Howick, Half Moon Bay, Somerville and Botany / East Tamaki, from Friends of Mangemangeroa, and from the Lions Clubs of Bucklands Beach and Howick.

The Trap Library East Auckland complements the Pest Free Howick Ward project which aims to have 1 in 5 households in the Howick Ward RAT trapping. They provide FREE rat traps to all community members keen to get involved.

Trap Library East Auckland have specialised POSSUM and MUSTELID (weasel, stoat, ferret) available to borrow to enable the trapping of these predator animals. Like any library, we ask you return your trap once you are finished using it, to best utilise this expensive equipment.

The Library

The Trap Library East Auckland has possum and stoat traps available to borrow to no charge. In return, we simply ask that you record your catches and return the trap(s) when you are no longer using them.

We provide a regular newsletter to keep you up to date and share information and advice on traps and trapping methods.
